Alan Thicke

Thicke of the Night aired from 1983-1984 in syndication. Its host, Alan Thicke, is best known for his role as Jason Seaver in the sitcom Growing Pains (1985-1992). 

 

His sidekick on this show was Arsenio Hall. Regulars on the show included Richard Belzer, Fred Willard and Gilbert Gottfried. Frank Zappa appeared as a musical guest. 

 

Thicke had hosted a show in his native Canada before moving to the United States (1980-1982). 

 

The theme music was written by Thicke and the show was cancelled after just one season. Thicke also wrote theme songs for Diff'rent Strokes, The Facts of Life, Hello Larry, Joker's Wild and more. 

 

Alan's son Robin had a hit song, Blurred Lines, in 2013.

 

In April, 2014, a new reality show premiered starring Thicke and his family. It aired on TV Guide Network and it was called "Unusually Thicke". It had appearances by some of Thicke's celebrity friends such as Bob Saget, David Hasselhoff and John Stamos.
