His NBC show totalled 1,810 broadcasts.
His CBS show totalled 4,214 broadcasts plus 4 primetime specials.
Bill Murray was his first guest on the NBC show in 1982 and the CBS show in 1993.
Including his 1980 daytime show, his programs have won 16 Emmy awards with 112 nominations.
His most frequent guests include: sportscaster Marv Albert, Richard Lewis, Tom Brokaw, Regis Philbin, Jack Hanna and Tony Randall.
His top ten lists come from the home office which has been based out of 11 different cities over the years.
