History of Late Night TV

He is the host of Last Call with Carson Daly on NBC. This show airs after Seth Meyers' 12:35 am show. It airs from 1:35 am to 2:05 am. The NBC show Later used to occupy this time slot. That show was hosted by various people including Bob Costas and Greg Kinnear. From 2002-2005 the show was taped in New York. Starting in September 2005 the show was relocated to Los Angeles.

 

Carson Daly has a background in music and radio. He idolized Dick Clark and wanted his career to be similar. For many years Daly was the host of Total Request Live (TRL) on MTV.

 

After 18 seasons and 2000 episodes, Last Call aired its final episode in 2019.

 

Daly is host of NBC's The Voice which is a singing competition like American Idol.
