Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart has achieved fame through his tenure as host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show. But before that job he hosted an MTV show simply called the Jon Stewart Show. In 1993 the show was 30 minutes on MTV. From 1994-95 it was expanded to 60 minutes and it aired in syndication. It was a replacement for the Arsenio Hall show. It was cancelled in 1995. His final show had David Letterman as his guest. Other guests included Howard Stern, Natalie Portman, William Shatner, and more. He had unique musical guests such as Van Halen, Slayer, White Zombie, Marilyn Manson, "Weird Al" Yankovic and Warren Zevon. The show was produced by Madeline Smithberg who would go on to create The Daily Show. In 1999, Stewart took over The Daily Show after the departure of Craig Kilborn who went on to host The Late Late Show on CBS. Stewart's last year for The Daily Show was 2015. The Daily Show spawned many stars, including Stephen Colbert, who took over for David Letterman in 2015.
