Here's an iconic moment in the history of television. After his retirement, Johnny makes a brief appearance on David Letterman's show. ​​This was in 1994, and it would be Johnny's last appearance on television. 

On Johnny's next to last episode (5-21-92) he is serenaded by Bette Midler. His other guest that night was Robin Williams. This is wonderful. His final show was a retrospective of memories.
